I am delighted that the Government has today announced that Brooklands College has been awarded £500,000 capital funding and the Windsor Forest Colleges Group, which includes Strode College in Egham, will receive £1.4 million.

Our colleges provide fantastic education and opportunities to thousands of local students and I welcome this additional support. I regularly meet with both college leaders and know how committed and passionate they are to deliver excellence. The skills students learn through these colleges are vital and I hope this additional funding will help them to improve the infrastructure of the sites so they can continue and expand on the fantastic work already underway.

These funds form part of a further investment of £286 million of capital funding for Further Education colleges which will be provided over the next two financial years. This represents the final stage of the Government’s £1.5 billion further education capital transformation programme designed to upgrade and transform the FE college estate.
