Allegations that Sadiq Khan suppressed information and made false and dishonest statements to the London Assembly to push forward his London Tax are serious and extremely concerning. This must now be fully investigated before any implementation of the ULEZ expansion.
Since yesterday, several constituents have made me aware of flooding issues in Thorpe. Following rising water levels, water contaminated with sewage is affecting some properties, causing damage and distress to residents.
It was great to visit Gary and Midge from the Broadwater Conservation Society to talk about their amazing work restoring the historic lake to its former glory – the lake has a history dating back to Henry VIII’s Tudor palace in Oatlands!
It was great to recently meet the team from Cats Protection, where I not only got to swap stories about my amazing cats, Frazzle and Ragnar, but also discuss ways to improve the lives of cats and their owners, from cat microchipping to enabling more people in rented housing to own pet cats.
This week I submitted my response to the initial non-statutory public consultation by the River Thames Scheme and its leading partners, the Environment Agency and Surrey County Council.
There is just under one week left for constituents in Runnymede and Weybridge to submit your views on how you would like the River Thames Scheme to look. This is an incredible opportunity to improve our local environment while improving flood protection.
