Runnymede and Weybridge is a constituency of rivers, lakes, streams, and flood plain. They support businesses, leisure and even travel. But with such amenities also comes risk, and it is vital that everyone is aware of the risk and knows what to do in an emergency.

July 25th marks World Drowning Day, where people are encouraged to think of the risks and how we can work together to prevent them. To mark this I am launching a survey to see how much people know about being safe in and around the water, and what they should do if an emergency was to occur. By understanding what information and measures are needed, together we can help make Runnymede and Weybridge safer.

Please do take the time to complete the survey, which you can access here: www.drbenspencer.org.uk/form/water-safety-survey

If you would like to know more about flood and water safety, who to contact should you experience flooding, whether you live in a high flood risk area, or how to prepare for a flood event, further information is available here.
