Sportability, sport for people with paralysis, is holding a Surrey shooting event this month at NSRA Bisley. This is open to people with paralysis – typically people who have had a spinal cord injury, stroke or have M.S.

The event is taking place tomorrow Thursday 17 March 2022 and you can find more details here: https://www.sportability.org.uk/events/shooting-with-the-nsra-bisley-su…;

Specsavers Surrey Youth Games is also coming up in the next few months with free sports training available for Runnymede families culminating in a country-wide friendly competition between our Surrey boroughs. These events encourage families who do not usually have access to sporting opportunities to sign up. Games are exclusively for beginners to gain confidence in a new sport and focus on training, enjoyment and to simply have fun.

If you think you can become a young ambassador to promote the Games and play an important role in spreading the word and encouraging new participants to take part, you have until this Friday 18th March to apply. You can do so by emailing [email protected]

Dr Ben Spencer MP said ‘These are both great events to support local people to get involved in a new sport that can provide a healthy, fun and enjoyable activity encouraging skills and building on self-confidence, as well as some friendly competition.’
