The Pelican, Addlestone

The Pelican, Addlestone

A hidden treasure in Addlestone, The Pelican has a fantastic location on the River Wey, on land actually owned by The National Trust, and benefits from great outdoor areas to enjoy in the warmer months, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere inside.

The secluded location, hidden away from passing traffic, can mean the team at The Pelican have to work that bit harder to create and promote the pub. But with the support of friends and family they are certainly succeeding, with nominations received showing the Pelican offers something for everyone. Particular highlights include the range of food, made fresh on site, the welcoming atmosphere, and a great range of live music on weekends.

We are immensely proud of the welcoming atmosphere we have achieved over the 10 years we have operated in Addlestone. A place where everyone feels at home, whether families are enjoying the garden or children’s play area, the locals catching up over a game of pool or new clientele relaxing by the river with their furry companions, the Pelican honestly caters for every occasion and is a true community pub.

All of our specials are homemade, including Sunday roasts,  where you now have to book in advance to secure your seat during the busy season. We are also very proud of our live music weekends and summer festivals, which have become a real highlight for locals and visitors of all ages, enjoying the atmosphere the bands produce. For us, it’s more than just serving food and drinks, it’s about creating memories, bringing people together, a safe place where people enjoy and celebrate the best of what our area has to offer.

Being nominated and shortlisted means the world to us. It’s recognition of the hard work, passion and community spirit that our teams deliver every single day. We’ve always aimed to create a space where people can relax, connect and enjoy themselves and knowing that others value what we do is incredibly rewarding. This nomination isn’t just for us, it’s for our amazing customers, our dedicated staff, and the community that’s supports us all year round. People work very hard for their money and is a clear reminder of why we love what we do.
