Each winter too many residents have to worry about whether their homes will be safe this season. As we saw most recently in January, flooding affects our homes, jobs and transport networks. While we continue to press for progress with flood mitigation and river maintenance, it is vital everyone know what to do and who to contact should there be another flooding emergency.

I have been reaching out to all stakeholders involved in responding to such incidents, and have today published updated contact details for all agencies, and information on how to get further information and advice. You can see this here: www.drbenspencer.org.uk/flooding-and-water-safety-contact-information

I am also meeting soon with local community flood group coordinators, to ensure we have a strong communication and support network in place in case it is needed. If you would like further information on the work I am doing to improve our flood resilience or to get involved, please contact me at [email protected].
