U-turns & emergency stops: It's not just pubs who need a change of direction from this Government

While I welcome reports that Labour are set to backtrack on their disastrous plan to hike business rates for our pubs, this should never have been proposed in the first place.

Yet again the Government has been the caused huge worry and stress to thousands, when it should be taking every opportunity to support businesses and boost our economy.

Winter fuel payments. Farmers tax. Business rates. This Government continues to announce measures to grab more money without taking the time to plan or even understand the harmful impact of their plans.

All the Government U-turns and emergencies stops show its not just drivers that clearly needed more time between theory and the practical test.

While we wait to see the detail of the latest expected U-turn, the Government must realise the damage caused by this chaotic and irresponsible approach.

Such poor management wouldn’t be tolerated in business. Our country deserves better.
