Dr Ben Spencer MP has called on the Government to support his Transport (Duty to Cooperate) Bill to help tackle transport delays and disruption, and to support local communities and the economy.
Ben Spencer MP said:
Almost every week residents tell me how fed up they are with the constant disruption from repeated and uncoordinated road, rail and utility works across our communities. My Transport (Duty to Cooperate) Bill seeks to address this, reducing delays, supporting the communities and helping the local economy.
In addition to writing to the Transport Secretary to encourage the Government to seriously consider my Bill, today I also called on the Deputy Prime Minister to raise this with the Chancellor - constant delays and disruption lead to countless work hours lost and directly impact local businesses, and ahead of the Budget it is vital we look at all options to boost our economy.
I look forward to hearing whether the Government will back my Bill!
