Having been nominated by the public and shortlisted for Runnymede and Weybridge constituency Pub of the Year, it was great to meet with Ryan, the manager of The Bear, recently, to learn more about what makes it so special.
Operating since 1922, the Bear is part of the history and heritage in Oxshott. In addition to the great garden and food highlighted by customers who nominated the pub, I see there is also a great wine list and a warm atmosphere from both staff and the inviting fire now lit as the weather gets colder. It is clear this is a great pub for all seasons, and I look forward to coming back again!

We’re extremely proud of the cozy pub experience and warm welcome we offer. But what we do best is food and wine. Whether you’re joining us for lunch or dinner, you’ll find classic pub favourites alongside some truly special seasonal dishes, including our current selection of delicious game dishes, all perfectly complemented by a glass of fine wine or a traditional ale served in a jug.
It’s a great honour to be shortlisted, and we’re delighted that our team’s hard work and dedication have been recognised. We’re also deeply grateful that this shines a light on the incredible contribution pubs make to their communities and reminds everyone just how valuable they are as community hubs.
